Hi need some information regarding boat trailers,i have bought a
home made collapsible boat trailer that is mounted on the back of my caravan and we will be heading off on the the big lap at the end of the month.My question is do you have to register the trailer,the boat is registered in South Australia,your
feedback would be much appreciated

If you intend towing the trailer on public roads and
reserves, yes it must be registered.
My "Flip'n'Easy" came with an engineering certificate which made registration simple.

Are you sure a collapsable boat needs a trailer, buy a porta bote and you can put it on your roof rack.

You still need to get it to the water though.
I find it is better to set up the boat (in my case a tinnie) with the motor mounted and everything else (eg: flotation vests and other safety equipment, fishing gear, etc.) already to go when you get to the launch site.
There is nothing worse than having to do all the preparation at the water's edge while looking out for things such as Crockodiles:-)
