Hi Everyone,
Can anyone give me some insight into the general conditions in the Flinders at this moment in time.
We are planning a trip there to see the wild flowers, if they are about to see.
How has the weather been there, have they had rains recently??.

Any advice and observations will be most welcome.

Cheers, Bruce.

Went up there weekend just gone for a ride on the dirt bike and everything is still there..... 23 deg sunny and dusty roads.

The Flinders is such a big area and being a tourist destination the roads are mostly always going to be good.

May I suggest weather zone and maybe a bit of your own research will not go astray.

Thanks olcoolone.
I am not concerned with the roads so much as the general state of the country side. I was out there in Oct 2007 and it was very dry, hence the question about recent rains.

I was looking for some on the ground info from someone, like yourself, who has been there recently. Information that would be difficult to get other than by asking someone who had just been there.

If it has turned dry out there again I cannot see much point in going so I will adjust my plans and go elsewhere.

Can you shed more light on the general conditions you observed.

Cheers, Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Everything is green at the moment, but the recent drying winds will bring the wild flowers on. Went for a trip along the Bridal track near Melrose on the week end the wattle trees were flowering and there were several patches of Salvation Jane in flower so further up the Flinders the wild flowers should be starting to bloom.
Enjoy your trip

Cheers

Many thanks Graham, that was the sort of info I was after.
Looks like we will be Flinders bound.

Thanks again.
Cheers, Bruce.
