Ignore the ratbag that replied to you. He's obviously got a personal problem.
Wouldn't like to get an electrical problem fixed by him.

Anyway, can you describe a little more on what your screen looks like when you say a full grid pattern. Is there any heading at the top?

Perhaps you could try a reset to see if that clears your problem.
There is a small hole at the back of the unit which you can activate with a straightened out paper clip or similar.

Now hang on, that was childish. I merely asked if he had read the manual, where it would probably have suggested that, in the event of a malfunction/issue, to perform a reset. Or a call to customer service.

So where did the personal attack on my professional auto electrical services (of 38 years) come from??

the screen has gone to a mode where its divided into 9 squares over imposed on top of the map, the squares have diferent functions in them. ie axpand map, zoom in, zoom out etc, they are some of the functions that are normaly on the side or bottom of screen. I cant use any of the toolbar functions. Everytime i press the screen it uses the grid function .eg ill press the close button and the screen will zoom in because thats whats on the screen in the grid patern.
Im not sure if i reset the machine if ill lose all the waypoints etc i entered on my latest trip.
Ive delt with the people st hema before and loved there service 100% but i wasnt sure if anyone has had this prob before.

Hi Trev,

You've just enabled the Screen Control function by the sounds of it.

On the bottom of the screen you see an icon that looks like a box made up of coloured squares. Click on that. That should bring up a Main Toolbar screen. In that screen you will see the option for Screen Control and it should look as if it is selected/pressed (a bit hard to see though). If you just click on Screen Control, that should disable the function on the main map screen.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Darren

Sorry Trev, Seems I misread your original post. Any chance of posting a pic of what you're seeing?
