From Dave Cox, Mt Dare Facebook page.

"Sadly, I have to inform everyone that our old friend and Outback Pioneer for Women, Molly Clark passed away in her sleep last night (Saturday night).
It was no surprise as she had turned quite ill 2 weeks ago. I was lucky enough to see her last Tuesday as I didn't think she would make it through last weekend.
I have no further info at the moment."

Sad to lose another of the outbacks greats!

Hi mchapo

Thanks for letting us know here on the forum , she was a true Outback identity.

We had the pleasure of meeting her at Old Andado years ago and spent the evening with her in her lounge room.

Yes Very sad... Never met the lady but we did have the pleasure of using her camp ground and showers on 7 Jul this year.

Touring her house was an eyeopener.

I hope it can somhow remain open as a memorial to another of our outback legends that have passed.

Very sad news, and condolences to her family and friends.

We camped at Old Andado last night. We spoke to her grandson and his wife, who came by and told us that she passed away. According to him she will be buried at Old Andado some time next week.

Camping in the heat gave us new respect for people living in the outback. It was such an amazing experience to walk through the house, which looks as if someone is still living there. We felt honoured to be allowed inside her home, knowing that she could only trust that people will respect her privacy and not take souveniers...

I hope the house and camping ground will remain open, so that future visitors can share this.

Thanks Molly!

Lot of sad news around today , Molly will be missed , she did a lot for the outback - a few weeks ago we also went thru the Alice Outback centre which depicts her and many other deserving outback women pioneers - recommend it.
