Seeking suggestions on overnight stops between
Norseman and
Eucla. I am familiar with
Madura Pass Servo/
Park, are there others that may be worth considering, Power/
Toilet not necessary as self sufficient with Van.
Advice appreciated.

Gidday
The Main Roads Department (WA) website has a link to a PDF document detailing their stopping
places on the Eyre Highway and the facilities at each. I have stopped at
Balladonia Roadhouse (so so) and Fraser Range which i found pretty good.
Cheers

Hi Bob
Aside from the designated 24 hours Main Roads rest areas, there are a number of others bigger ones where you can get
well back from the road for a quiet night. One good one we have used a couple of times is 47 kilometres west of Madura - on the Main Roads brochure as Moonera
Tank.

Hi Bob
As when we turn on the homeward run, my driver is hell bent on getting home asap, we travel until we pick up a good big one before dusk. Between
Mundrabilla and
Norseman station fences are limiting, whereas east of
Mundrabilla it is just wide open space. The 24 hour ones have a pit
toilet, and they get pretty packed out by nightfall. The others will always have a few travellers but you can spread out
well amongst the trees in the big ones.

hi bobjl
there is an off road area also as you drive east about 20km's past the moonera
tank turn off on the left hand side where there used to be a
gravel pit and a mains rds
camp
i stayed there last time i x-ed theres quiet a bit of room and it was far enough off the rd not to be bothered by passing trucks
its approx 26km's west of madura on the right when your going towards cocklebiddy for those coming to w.a its not marked on the mains rd map i just looked but i marked it in my road atlas at the time of my using it
cheers

Moondini
Bluff, about 25km east of Madura, no.9 in Camps 6 book was pleasant when we stayed there a couple of weeks ago.

We have also stopped Moondini
Bluff, but found that the road curved around so we were not as far away from the traffic as we have been able to get in some other rest areas.
