Hi all 8 of us are heading to the M Cup after catching up with a mate at Tumbarumba.
We are in 2 cars (Subaru AWD & a Rodeo dual cab not sure if 4 wd) we are all hitting 50 this year and are sensible (sort of).
My question is, is either of the 2 below routes ok for us to take.
1. Tumbarumba - Corryong - Benambra - Omeo
2. Tumbarumba - Tallangatta - Mitta Mitta - Anglers Rest - Omeo.
What about dirt sections I have read old forums to see there is dirt sections
What about fuel I assume if we fuel up at either Cooryong or Tallagatta would suffice
Any help is appreciated
Having read old forums on these routes they appear very appealing

I would probably go via Corryong, Benambra, Omeo. All very do-able in 2wd. But is slow going due to being mountains/lots of slow bends.

Fuel available in Corryong and Omeo.

Its a lovely drive. But allow plenty of time.

Thanks 2000RR also how long do you estimate Corryong to Omeo in terms of time , and how much dirt????? .
We need to get to Sale to catch up with a another mate at a reasonable time.

Appreciate help from anyone as a few of us are from Port Stephens and rest from Sydney , none of us have been to this region.

I would allow about 3 hours from Corryong to Omeo. Mostly dirt to Benambra, then tar. Omeo to Bairnsdale is all tar but still allow a couple of hours for that as it is also windy.

Enjoy!
