I have no experience whatsoever with the Navman Escape, but the Hema HN5i will do everything you could wish for both voice guided street navigation (iGo) and Australia wide moving map display. (OziExplorer)
OziExplorer will not only display your current position on a map, but will record and save your track and any waypoints you enter into the application, for future reference.
OziExplorer is the pseudo default of choice for most ExplorOz folk.
The one (minor) negative I have always had with the Hema Navigator is that you cannot run both street navigation and moving map application concurrently and for this reason I use the Hema for OziExplorer and a separate TomTom device for street guided navigation.

Hi Wemont
I have just had a quick look at the MY Escape on the internet and my comments are...................
There is no way you can compare it to a HEMA Navigator. I have had the original HN5 and have since upgraded to the new HN6. It would be like chalk and cheese.
You will find that many of the other trusted good brands claim they have four wheel drive tracks and that is all it is, all talk. The new HN6 has all the free camps in the iGo section, but run it on Ozi and the world or should I say the Australian bush is a reality and you can get to locate some of those special out of the way
places that require a good Topo map to locate.
As far as I am concerned, there is only one real true off road, ready to use out of the box unit and it is not the Navman.
Cheers
Stephen
