I am on the hunt for the 'Perfect' towing mirrors and having almost literally purchased every brand/type to date - purchased a set of the Camec Mirror Suction mirrors that I saw on a post on this forum.

I ordered them online from Caravan and RV World and received them within 2 days. Brilliant service. However - I have a Pajero and despite the editor from Caravan World also driving a Pajero on his trip to Kakadu [mentioned on the other thread that he loved them] - I cannot get them to work on my Pajero mirrors. It is due to the 'flange' that surrounds the car mirror to keep rain and sunlight off the mirror surface. On the Pajero it is reasonably deep which in turn doesn't allow for any adjusting of the suction-mirror with the car's electronic adjustment once the Camec has been stuck to the glass.

For cars that have 'flush' mirrors or only a small flange - it appears as if they would work well however, unfortunately in my case, they are not the Holy Grail.

PS - I am aware of the Clearview mirrors but am trying to avoid the $700.00 + price.

I wish to make it clear that the mirrors are not in any way faulty - just when fitting to a Pajero NT.

Hi Gary,

Can you angle the Pajero mirror so that the outer edge comes closer to the rear edge of the flange?.

If you can you might just get them to fit. I guess you have already tried it but I cannot think of any other simple solution.

Perhaps bend the arm on the new mirrors to curve around the flange.
Could you make up an adapter to make them fit?.

I hear what you are saying with regard to the Clearview units and I, like you, resisted for some time but eventually caved in. No complaints now. Once I spent the money I stopped thinking about it. They are the ultimate solution.

Cheers, Bruce.

Hi Bruce,
I didn't want to bend them in-case I can sell them.
I think I do need to just 'bite the bullet' and stop trying to solve the age-old problem.
I have already spent way too much time on it.
Cheers.

After trying many different types - I have bit the bullet and fitted Clearview.

Should have done it years ago!
