Review: Beachcomber Holiday Park - NSW

My Place Rating: My Rating 5/5

A beautiful location on a beach and in a National Park with lots of native fauna, accessed down a short stretch of gravel road. Stunning views and fresh sea breezes. A large cleared area is kept mown by hundreds of wallabies and a few kangaroos. The wallabies fearlessly beg for food and campers are warned not to feed them for their own good. The local kookaburras know how to take a steak off a plate on the fly. A small lake harbours frogs and herons hunting the frogs. The shower/toilet facilities are new, smart and spotlessly clean and are supplied with solar heated water. The camp kitchen has a gas stove/cooktop, a stainless steel barbecue, and a wood fired pizza oven. If you decide to make pizza, the owners can supply the makings! Drinking water is harvested from the roofs and other water comes from a bore. The amiable owners are proud of the green credentials of their park. Most of the cabins have great ocean views. The camp/caravan sites are all on fairly level grass and are spacious. Sadly, shrubs and trees to provide separation of sites or windbreaks cant survive the ravenous wallabies. No mains power or powered sites at this time. As it is in a National Park (Eurobodalla) no dogs are admitted. The beach is unpatrolled and may be risky for swimmers. Attractions include bushwalks, beach fishing, the Bodalla Pub, Bodalla Dairy/cheese shop and nearby Narooma with ocean fishing, whale watching and tours to Montague Island.
