Hi & Advice for my upcoming trip

Hi this is my first post on the forum.

I'm planning a trip from my little corner of QLD to Sydney for the new years events.

So far my route would require a stop at Toowoomba on the way there & at Brisbane on the way back, with the overnight on new years eve itself.

I've had a look at a few of the free camp listings in the past and even stopped at a couple on the way north to Townsville but I would like some recommendations for any locations for this trip.

My setup isn't too overbearing for most places as I have a van with a roof top tent that opens over the whole of the roof.
