A couple of my mates have had spray on ute liners put in the back of their utes, looks the same as the removable ones but its pernament, black plastic looking, looks realy good and is very hard wearing.
The company said if it ever gets wear they can touch it up or re coat it. A good thing about the spray on is water cant get trapped between
the tub and the liner causing potential for rust etc

You asked for any benefits, the post was just pointing out a negative for plastic liners.

Nope,
Would never have another drop in liner of any brand.
1. Water condensates underneath and rusts
2. Dust and dirt gets underneath and acts as a grinding past when the liner moves......and it does constantly just a little bit.
3 They are very slippery
4 they buckle when they get very hot
Advantages of a spray in liner.
None of the problems 1-4

I was told that plastic tub linners move around. Get dust sand etc under them and scratch the paint. Add moisture , water and you have rust. Thats why I had the spray on linner put in my BT50.
Costs more, but rember you only get what you pay for.

Hi Scotty,
I have an ARB liner in
the tub of my Colorado and it's been in since almost new. (about 3 years ago)
I also had an ARB Canopy installed at the same time.
The main benefit as I see it is a deadening of sound from anything contacting the metal tub.
I also have added a Black Widow drawer system which I had in a previous vehicle, so I guess the majority of the liner is "hidden", but the sides, back and bottom area of about 500mm behind the back of the drawer system, are "exposed".
I can't confirm or deny any problem with condensation as mentioned, as I have never had need to remove the drawer system and liner to
check underneath.
The cost back in May 2009 was $284 for the main liner, $100 for the tailgate Liner, a fit kit of $13, plus labour to install of $43. This was from an ARB "agent" rather than an ARB
shop and I may have received a discount as I also had the canopy, roof rack support frame and Rhino Rack supplied and fitted at the same time.
A call to ARB or an agent will give the current pricing structure for supply and/or fitting at today's prices.
I wanted to set up my vehicle tub area to have a clean, practical and functional storage area which is protected from the elements, hence the canopy, support frame and roof rack system.
All I can say is I have no regrets as far as I am concerned.
Should the need arrise that I need to remove everything and observe any abrasion and or rusting underneath, I will deal with any problem down the track.

Oh!
I have no visible signs of buckling or any other problem as mentioned but perhaps the frame of the drawer system keeps everythin flat and restrained from movement.

Thanks Bill (sand man),
I am not really bothered about getting
the tub scratched, it was more about protecting it from dents from the contents sliding around that I was concerned with or on the occasion I carried some gravel, sand or topsoil and also maybe easier to hose out....might just run with it for a while as I can fit it anytime.
Your rig looks good..
