I think that it would be agreed that the 1 + 1.5 seats in the earlier Troopys were not the most comfortable. Accordingly we have replaced ours with Stratos 3000LTSS Light Truck
Suspension Seats. At a little over $4000 they are not cheap but the improvement was worth it to us. An early trip over the Simpson required physiotherapy for Roz's back and without these new seats we would not be continuing our adventures.
The
seat is very comfortably contoured and supported by an adjustable pair of coil springs damped by a small shock absorber and you literally just float along. Even on bitumen the ride is more comfortable. The sides of the
seat provide good constraint against lateral forces from the rolling motion. The adjustable lumbar support (optional) ensures comfort for your middle back.
How have others found these seats? What have been your experiences with other brands?
Member Peter McG asked for my experience with these but I have been unable to reply due to my "MM Reply" being inoperative. I'm sure Peter would welcome others experiences with these and similar seats for his Patrol.

Recaro are now distributed through ARB. Like a lot of the after market seats Recaro parts can be swapped around between the bases and backs.
The pair I have in the Patrol are worth their weight in gold, low swabs so its easy to get in and out, air lumber support and good back support. They are slightly narrower than the originals and can give more leg room when slid right back.
The catch is with a lot of replacement seats is the price, as
well as seats, you need runners, bases and fitting should be done by and authorised agent/ fitter. But in the end its
well worth the extra comfort.
