Gidday Lads and Ladies..new member signing on.What a great site and would like to start by asking for some advice.Have just sold my 96 diesel dualcab Hilux as a repairable crock.Am keen to get a 02/03/04 diesel Hilux xtracab with a steel drop-side tray. Can only find the Ln172R on the internet. Are there other options such as SR SR5 turbo etc? I would like a "real" ute but would like a few added comforts..especially as my bride will be using it to do battle with
Sydney traffic on a regular basis.Have seen a series called Kzn165 R but haven't spotted an xtracab yet..cheers..Dave

The extra cab is a great truck, you get that extra leg room that the single cab lacks and you can still fit a tray that you don't have to put ya shovel in diagonally.
Damn I hate dual cabs.
The chasis on the extra cab is slightly longer.
The extracab utes come up
well optioned pretty regular......I wanted one, but they where a bit rich for me at the time.
Alot of boss tradies buy them particularly the tall blokes, and I saw a few optioned with the V6 or turbo diesel.......yeh In hind sight, I should have shelled for one.
And being the bosses car they tend to be looked after too.
If you want an extracab......take the time and wait for the right car.
Learn the leseon from the vulture.......always looking, always circling..never in a hurry..and you will pick up a good one...it might take you 6 months.
cheers
