This is undoubtedly the best
camp oven cookbook I have used. The
recipes provide the sorts of things I like to serve and that my family likes to eat. I particularly liked the detail of the timing and the use of the hot coals or heat beads in order to maximise the chance of success. Fans of the use of heat beads, such as myself, will find the book very useful.
It is very attractively designed and laid out - good photographs of the food to be served, plus a few to show the techniques make this a handy addition to the
camping kit. I also like the fact that the
recipes have all been "bush-tested" including working as part of a shearing team.
For users of traditional cast iron
camp ovens, as
well as Hillbilly and
Bedourie ovens, this book would prove very useful.
