Sadly, Adam Plate, who ran
Oodnadatta's
Pink Roadhouse with his wife Lynnie, died in the Targa
Adelaide rally. His car hit a tree and rolled.
I've just read it on Mr4x4 website and it says "last week" and I vaguely recall reading of the rally in last week's tv guide...
Can't find it on any of this
forum's recent threads so I assume it's recent.
When you travel to tiny
places and really chat with the owners, instead of the quick "hi-bye" of suburbia, things like this are a little more personal, aren't they?

Well, do I feel like a dill!
"Last week" encompasses a lot of time, eh?!
I "only" waded my way back through threads up til September...eh heh.
Ah
well...for those who didn't know (embarrassed smile)

Don't feel like a dill Robyn,
Not everyone has a chance to read the
forum on a daily basis. I'm sure there are others that were unaware of the loss of Adam. You have just bought it to our attention again.
I think that it is fantastic that so many of the "Exploroz Family" have been able to share anecdotes about Outback Icons like Adam and Merv (of
Windorah fame) in recent times.
If it wasn't for the members of the
forum, a lot of significant events would go by the by and none of us would be aware.
Cheers
Anthony
