G,Day Everyone
Being in a bit of a dilemma as to which way to go,I thought I might ask the question,---has anyone crossed the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sue,or Goog's Track, towing a camper trailer without any hassles?---I'm aware of the downside of trailers on these outback tracks,==(and their unpopularity,)--- having done most of them with a basic tent--(CSR, Gunbarrell, Simpson, etc ) but in looking for a change of sleeping arrangements, I thought the trailer might be a nice alternative.---I can probably guess some of the answers, but still value this forums feedback....after all we're mostly all on the same wave link on here aren't we? ......Sapper D

Hi Sapper,

Travelled the Connie Sue from Warburton to Neale Junction in August this year, towing a light trailer with no problems. There were 2 graders working out of Neale Junction. They had done the Anne Beadell and were about to start on the Connie Sue - which when we came down was badly corrugated in places with occasional wash-outs and detours off the main track. A good drive though. Have a look in our blogs, as I have just written up that section of our trip.

Cheers,

Val.

We also came down the Connie Sue to the Neale Junction in August and met up with the two grader driver drivers at the Junction. They had just finished the Anne Beadell from Laverton to the Junction and were heading off to the WA /SA border.

We had two Kimberley's in our group behind landcruiser and a Prado.

Few washouts on the Connie Sue down from Warburton but took it easy and had no problems.

Great trip. If you head accross to Laverton plan to stop a night at Yeo but watch out for snakes in the well.

Sapper, did it towing a Tambo Cooper behind a Nissan Navara as per blogs below. Back out there last year with mate towing an Ultimate. If towing a trailer, make sure it's a sturdy one, the towbar and hitch are solid, the suspension on trailer and vehicle is good, the tyres are in good to great condition and take it easily. Leave yourself plenty of time and be prepared with spares and tools.

West from Coober

Annes Corner to Volkes Hill Corner

The Border, Serpantione Likes and Ilkurlka

Downed Aircraft, Neal Junction and Yeo Lake

Anne Beadell to Emu 2011

Cheers Mick

G'day Sapper..
Mate i did the AB in July and there was quite a few Camper trailers on the track and all seemed to have had no problems, but in saying that there was a few skeletons that didn't make it and i guess as long as its off heavy duty construction and tire pressures lowered and its well maintained i see no reason why you shouldn't take it as the only time you will need to use the transfer case is when you go of the main track into the wrecked plane site as the main track is basicly a 2wd track but it is heavily corrugated.
Hope this helps

Sapper D,

As others have said well prepared trailer.

Went with a group in 07 the only trouble with one trailer was the spring hanger split from the chassis.

It may be that you might need to look at reinforcing this area.
This was on a well known off road trailer mob.

Take your time and let your tyres down and with lots of luck no problems
