.
'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house,
Not a keyboard was stirring, not even a mouse.
The postings were made, it had all been said,
There were no more followups, the threads were now dead.
.
The EO members nestled, all snug in their beds,
While visions of new fourby's danced in their heads.
I had just closed the computer with a click and a beep,
And had climbed into bed for a good night's sleep.
.
When up on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to the porch to see what was the matter.
There on the roof sat a Cruiser so grand,
Pulled by eight reindeer from a far-off land.
.
The driver waved, from his vehicle so slick,
I knew in a moment, it must be St Mick.
He had a broad face and a generous belly,
That shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
.
A wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Soon assured me I had nothing to dread.
The reindeer just stood, so patient so tame,
And St Mick whistled and called them by name.
.
Now
Winches, now Jacks, now Turbos and Chips,
On Lifts, on Shocks, on Swags and Limited Slips.
He spoke to address me, "You will be delighted",
His smile so embraced me, I felt I'd been Knighted.
.
He pulled from his bag a present so fine,
And gave me an Air Locker, it was
mine all
mine.
It had bells, it had whistles and details so grand,
It was just what I wanted, it was all I had planned.
.
As I examined it tears came to my eyes,
For attached to the back were six fruit mince pies.
St Mick, O how can I thank you, your kindness is great,
"Ah, tis nuthin at all, just what I do for a mate".
.
"But now
the desert is calling, it's time we must leave",
And he flew off away with me left to grieve.
For in my hot hands, the gift melted like cream,
After all of my joy, it was only a dream.
.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
