I am new to the luxuries of having
toilet in the van, our new concept van has thetford
toilet fitted an i have filled the reservoir as directed but the fluid level is not changing in the level indicator and the pump works but no
water is actually being pumped out. This is not the first filling for this unit, it was full when i took delivery. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

There is only one way the
water will become visible in the tube is if there is
water in the
tank.
There is always
water in the filler tube you need to let the hose run slowly or pour it in slowly to stop a flash overflow and wetting things.
The
tank holds ??? 20lts If you pour a 10lt bucket in the filler and the
water does not rise in the tube don't pour anymore in till you find out where that bucket full went.
All the best
Kevin

Sorry and also if the pump runs and no
water is pumped and no
water is in the clear fill eye tube there is no
water in the
tank not a good idea to run the pump dry.
Look up Thetford site and look at the cut away plans for an idea how it works.

The
toilet roll holder will come out if you wiggle it around and pull hard enough.
The pump is just underneath it.
You will then be able to see both the
water level in the
tank and the pump tube, which may be kinked or may have fallen off the pump.

Thanks for your responses, i wasn't putting enough
water in. I was stopping when the filler arm was full, however if you keep going it will overflow into the storage
tank. Learn something new everyday.
Cheers

They are indeed a tricky setup in a number of ways.... while you are there...Thetford recommend the pink flush additive but most usersin mild to warm climates report the development of black algae in that flush
tank - had it myself - that too could eventually block the pump - I stopped using it. Some owners stay with plain
water in the
tank and use the pink flush via a hand held spray bottle
