Gooday all, was just wondering if any body uses an in car camera in any of their vehicles and what they think of the brand they have, any pluses or minuses or whish they had bought another brand. I'm thinking of getting 2 of these
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120949538224?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_4091wt_1344
one for my prado and one for the wifes car. I wouldn't have a clue in regards to all the specs this one is advertising wether they are good or bad ????? Maybe some one with some camera/electronics can also comment on wether this brand seems ok or not ................Cheers

Thanks heaps for that Gone Bush. I did do a search but didnt come up with your referral to 99628. I have taken note of the links, the best one I like after looking at them all is the blackbox, bit dearer but wow the picture is so clear and I like the GPS bit about it as
well. At least if done for speeding and you know you were not, you have the proof right there......Cheers thanks for that...........

I've just purchased one of these:
GS1000 from AliExpress
AliExpress doesn't use PayPal which is a bit of a pain. It will probably arrive in 2 weeks or so. I particularly wanted a small screen so I can get the viewing angle correct and play it back on
the spot (if need be). This one has a GPS and links to Google maps, according to the specs. All will be revealed by the end of January, I hope.

I have a Blackvue DR400G HD , terrific piece of kit, it records GPS information as
well.
heres a sample from a few days ago, best viewed in HD (adjust res with the gear icon at the bottom) & full screen

Had
mine more than 6 months now, there is a newer/better model.
No issues with heat / bumps / vibration at all. Inside temp is often high 50's when I get into the car but I do have a good A/C which soon cools interior down to low 30's . Just install it and forget it. Whenever something happens I take the sd card out & save it on the computer or upload to youtube.
I got
mine from south korea, no issues. they are very common in Russia because they need them for insurance, dont believe they are big here yet.
I would not go on the road without one, Sister in Law was killed by a culpable driver and he got off scott free because of lack of admissible evidence, if she had dash cam he would have been convicted for sure.
did you see this

The response from the 000 operator left a lot to be desired. 6 months jail might help that ass think about his behaviour.

Bazooka, bit of a story behind pulling the website down but basically we are in the process of squeezing contents of house & shed into a shipping container and disconnecting as much as possible, heading off next month for at least 12 months on the road, (won't end up back in Vic), might maintain a trip website but in a different format, probably wordpress as its easier on a mobile connection. I might fire goingush.com back up, but will be different. cheers Don

Surely thats no justification for the Hilux driver, But the camera is wide angle & makes things look further than they are, like looking into a convex mirror. I was passing a long spread out line of slower cars over a few klm', I'm going to look daft if I pull in after passing each one & then back out again for the next. I understand Rice Burners dont like being behind a Landrover but thats no excuse for driving with a death wish.

Pretty obvious he was trying to get past the maroon car. If you look at the camera it says he was travelling a tounch above the limit. The Hilux driver's manoeuvre was ridiculous no matter what the circumstances.
