The only place to
camp in 1770 this is a very popular place in peak times, offering beachfront sites and non-beachfront sites. The beachfront is very sheltered and family friendly and at low tide you can walk out all the way to Round Head and back. This is a waterfront playground with watercraft for hire and plenty of shady sites for campers. All sites have power and
water. Sullage must be collected and disposed of at onsite communal
grey water waste point, no sullage hookups. Campfires are permitted at beachfront sites. Concrete slabs are only provided in a few of the non-beachfront sites (check when booking sites). No dogs. Stroll along the boardwalk back to the
park and pub to watch the sunset and the boats. Walk up to
the monument to
Cook's second landing in May 1770.
