Kathleen Springs - NT

Kathleen Springs is located 21km by road from Kings Canyon and lies within the Watarrka National Park.

Here is a very basic short walk of 2.6km return along a paved trail out and back to a small waterhole at the end. Along the way, you will see some signboards and the relicts of old stockyards. Signs along the track tell the story of centuries of Aboriginal culture and the recent cattle industry. The waterhole holds special significance for the local Aboriginal people and is important for wildlife, so swimming is not permitted.

NOTE: The Giles Track also starts near here. It is a 22km overnight walk traversing the top of the range from Kathleen Springs to Kings Canyon.
