Knox Gorge is a deep chasm that intersects
Wittenoom Gorge. Accessed via a very steep, loose and rocky Class 5 downhill trail then via an easy flat trail along the
creek. You can swim in the first deep pool of
water right throughout the dry season and enjoy a mostly fully shaded trail. Explore beyond the
green pool following the rocky ledges (a little more challenging) to the final end point where the split in
the gorge glows red at all times of day. There is a
sign and chain to stop you going further unless on a caving tour. There is so much to see in this short walk but you should prepare for serious hike with hiking boots as the first descent is very challenging, loose and slippery. Do not wear thongs! Be very careful with children as this is seriously steep. Coming back feels easier than going down.
