Alaric Station is now used as a retreat for veterans of war, particularly those who saw action in Vietnam. It offers rooms with meals and a few powered caravan sites. It operates on a self help basis. The
homestead is built by a permanent
waterhole which enables residents to maintain a thriving vegetable garden.
