Information

The expedition by Burke and Wills to the Gulf of Carpentaria passed through Tragowel. On 2 September 1860, the expedition group led by Robert O`Hara Burke arrived at the homestead of Abraham Booth and John Holloway on the Loddon River, called Tragowell Station (later renamed to Tragowel Estate).Arrived 6.30pm Sunday, September 2 1860. Rained heavily overnight.Departed 9.15am Tuesday, September 4 for Reedy Lake station, 20km north, crossing the Loddon at Old Kerang.
