Information

Gulflander Train Stop Blackbull Station opened on December 15, 1890, as a key stop on the historic Normanton-to-Croydon railway line in remote far north Queensland. Built during the region's gold rush era, the remote siding served the surrounding outback country. Today, the siding operates as a popular morning tea and "smoke-oh" stop for the iconic Gulflander tourist train. There is a large shelter area with tables, bins, a modern disability friendly toilet, a few sheds and historical information signage. The rest area is often used as an overnight stop by caravaners too.
