Charters Towers Show Grounds - QLD

The Charters Towers Showground (CTS) opens as an Overflow Camping Area during peak tourist season. Council may consider opening the Charters Towers Showgrounds for overflow camping only when all powered sites at caravan parks within Charters Towers are fully occupied. The provision of overflow camping remains at Council's discretion and is not guaranteed. Travellers should not rely on the Showgrounds for accommodation and are encouraged to arrange accommodation in advance, particularly during the peak tourism season (April - September).When open, the Overflow Camping Area is available for self-contained RVs, caravans, camper trailers, and tents. Bookings are essential and only available on the day of arrival. It is not possible to pre-book sites.For year-round options, we recommend contacting one of the three caravan parks within Charters Towers City: Charters Towers Tourist Park (4787 7944), Dalrymple Tourist Van Park (4787 1121), and Big 4 Aussie Oasis Outback Holiday Park (4787 8722).Max. stay is 3 nights.
