Definitely one of the most picturesque walks in Australia - so much reward for your effort. Access is via the Evans Head
lookout car
park where you make a steep descent which is primarily steps. Relax, take your time, every step has its' own visual rewards. Whilst it is intended to be a one way trek it is not compulsory to do the whole thing, just walk until you feel you have reached your limit or complete the whole loop walk. It is a photographers paradise. Watch canyoneers descend rope into the dark depths of the actual canyon itself. Take your swimmers if you are brave, it's quite chilly even in summer. The car
park fills quickly - best time to visit is weekdays and arrive by 10am. Takes around 3 hours maximum.
