Until 1929 when
Lake Daylesford was constructed, Jubilee Lake was the favoured swimming place for visitors (the timber walkway to the main outlet valve was a perfect jumping off spot). The Nelms family had a fruit/stall, served light meals, afternoon teas and ice-creams. A path wound around the Lake, over the
footbridge down one side and back across a rustic timber
footbridge at the other end. A set of swings, bathing boxes, a shade house and scattered ornamental gardens created a most desirable destination.
