Location for Fiveways
Tank. It is part of a series of historical
water tanks built along the original inland
routes to support "overlanders" and maintenance crews for the 1877 East-West Telegraph Line. Like other historic tanks in the region, the
water is generally non-potable and may contain algae or local wildlife, so it should not be relied upon for drinking. The drive from the Eyre Highway to Five Ways
Tank (the first 10 km) is relatively quick compared to the rest of the track. Expect 3 hours driving from the Eyre Hwy to Toolina Cove.
