Silky Grevillea, Golden Grevillea, Fern-leaved Grevillea

A brilliant and familiar site along roads in the Kimberley, NT and N. Qld. Usually grows in sandy soils that may become seasonally wet. May be a tree to 8 or 10m tall or a dense spreading shrub.

Trianthema pilosa

A creeping annual herb commonly found partially covered with sand on the top of sand dunes. Flowers have 5 petals and are pinish-white. leaves covered with long hairs.

Great Mullein - a weed

Erect, robust biennial, herb, 0.4-2 m high. Fl. yellow and is not an Australian Native.

Grand Spider Orchid

Tuberous, perennial, herb, 0.25-0.6 m high. Fl. green & cream & red, Sep to Oct. Grey or brown sand, clay loam. Grand Spider Orchid is listed as Threatened Flora (Declared Rare Flora).

Blue Grass-lily

Tufted, glabrous herbaceous perennial; rhizome simple; roots fibrous, most with fusiform tubers 1–4 cm long towards tips. Leaves 8–50 cm long, 1.5–15 mm wide; sheath ± papery.

Kingia

Perennial herb 15–40 cm high, hoary, suckering and forming stands to several meters diam.; branches densely hairy; hairs simple, retrorse, ± appressed, usually wearing off along the ridges.

Mistletoe

Mistletoes are parasites on trees and shrubs. They use the host plant to provide water and some sugars which are accessed via a specialised structure (haustoria) that penetrates the stem of the host.
