Can I use Traveller with CarPlay?
Only a limited range of approved apps are supported in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and ExplorOz Traveller is not one of them. However, by using an AI Box (Android adapter), you can run Traveller on your vehicle screen. To learn how, view this guide to:

General Device Requirements
ExplorOz Traveller works on:
- iPhone and iPad (minimum iOS 14)
- Android phones and tablets (minimum Android 10)
- Some Android-based head units (genuine Android 10 or above with updated/current Android System Web Viewer)
The device must be GPS enabled, with either inbuilt GPS or external GPS via a bluetooth receiver (see below).
GPS for iPads
iPads without cellular capability do not have a built-in GPS. The app will still install and work, but offline positioning and tracking will not function unless you connect an external GPS receiver such as Garmin GLO 2, Dual XGPS160 SkyPro, or Bad Elf Pro/Flex series.
Can I use Traveller on a PC or Mac?
Yes we have an online version designed for browsing/planning that is accessible through our website. This is called the Traveller Web-App (available with ExplorOz Pro Access or
Membership).
The Web-App runs in your browser (eg. Edge, Safari, Chrome) on Windows or Mac computers and is ideal for trip planning, research, and viewing your travel data on a larger screen. The Traveller Web-App syncs content with your ExplorOz account so your
Places,
Routes and
Track Logs are available on your travel device (phone, tablet, iPad, headunit).
Please note:
- The Web-App is for planning and viewing only
- It does not provide GPS navigation or tracking
- For navigation, purchase and download the Traveller app to your phone/tablet/iPad (via your app store)
Can I use Traveller on more than one device?
Yes. You can use Traveller on multiple devices using your app store account.
- On Apple devices, this uses your App Store account
- On Android devices, this uses your Google Play account
- Apple and Android are separate platforms and require separate app purchases
Your ExplorOz account manages your content, maps, and
Membership access across your devices once you
sign in.
Can I share Traveller with family members?
Yes. Traveller can be shared within your household using official app store family sharing features.
Once installed on each device,
sign in using the same ExplorOz account to access shared maps, trip data and
Membership features.
- The app purchase is platform specific (Apple and Google Play are separate stores)
- Offline maps (EOTopo) are linked to your ExplorOz account
- Using the same ExplorOz account keeps your data in sync across devices
Why do I need to purchase the app again on Android if I already bought it on iPhone?
Apple and Google Play are separate platforms with their own app stores and billing systems. Purchases made on one platform do not transfer to the other.
To use Traveller on both Apple and Android devices, the app must be purchased once on each platform. Your ExplorOz account can then be used across both to access your maps, data and
Membership features.
Do I need internet or mobile signal?
No. Once maps are downloaded, Traveller works fully offline using GPS. Online access is only needed for things like:
- Downloading maps
- Syncing your data
- Creating routes (auto routing)

routes, tracking and navigation all work without internet.
What are EOTopo map editions?
EOTopo is released as a new map edition each year, identified by its production year (eg.
EOTopo 2026). Once downloaded, EOTopo can be used offline and selected when online, reducing reliance on other map layers. We offer 3 options for how you can access updates to the maps - select Pro Access or EOTopo Annual Access on subscription to always have access to download the latest version of EOTopo maps on all your devices.
