My Place Rating: My Rating 5/5

A little gem and so close to Perth. This is probably the only thing negative that I can say about the place. Its reputation is growing and the secret is out. This means it could become a lottery as to whether you rock up and get in, especially on a busy weekend. Fortunately if the place is full you do have alternatives at Jurien and Greenhead, although these would be caravan parks.
Sandy Cape is an idyllic little spot for those that are pretty much self sufficient and pretty much like their own company and that of others. You have to take your own water and power if you wish to run a fridge but there are toilet facilities with long drops. There are a variety of sites from heavily shaded, to no shade. Most of the sites have a good allocation of space so you don't ever feel like you are right on top of your neighbours. They also allow pets which is great. You must keep pets on a leash, but once to the beach, you can let them run free and I am sure they'll enjoy this spot as much as you will. I am not an expert of boats, but you can get access by 4WD to the beach to launch boats. Hopefully you skippers out there will know what size boats can be launched from a soft sand beach.
The beach is beautiful and sweeps around a small bay where fishing is quite popular. Most of the time the ocean in the bay is quite calm and makes swimming and bathing a treat as its protected by a reef and a headland. There are opportunities to try some 4WD tracks along the coastline and Stockman Gully is another place of interest within easy reach.
Supplies and fuel are available in Jurien Bay, which is about 9km south. A large IGA is available along with bottle shops, a couple of pubs, cafes and take-aways. For the more adventurous there is the opportunity to try sky-diving with the local specialists.
