Hi all.
We are looking to get away for a week of camping in the second week of the school holidays (21st-27th) and have found
Wee Jasper as a possible option. Looks nice.
Has anyone been there lately? Is it normally busy this time of year? Looking for a place to get away that is not crowded. Last trip was to Wollondilly river station and it was awesome. Would recommend it to anyone but beware of the road in. Now looking for somewhere differenc to go.
Thanks in advance
Jason

Hey Jason
We have been to
Wee Jasper 3-4 times over the last couple of years and found it a great place
Billy Grace Reserve has a
toilet block with hot showers (donation box out front)
Campfires are allowed and there are plenty of
good camp spots along the creek
Make sure your fully stocked, no "real corner "store.
Even in school hols I don't think it would be crowded

Jason you lucky, lucky man you. Although I have'nt been to Wee Jasper/ Lake Burrinjuck for quite a few years it remains top of the list for when we get down to NSW. We used to
camp there regularly when living in
Sydney, tents and swags, lots of trout to catch. All the good things mate. Go for it, you'll love it. Cheers.

Thanks for your replies. It looked like a fantasitc place but I read in a couple of other forums that it got really crowded. I am not a crowded camping site type of person. Can't handle the caravan park type camping.
All I really want around me is trees but with what is around this camping spot (caves, fishing etc) it seemed too good to pass up, especially since I have three kids with me this time.
We had planned on heading up to Telegherry, but with the weather looking poor we are searching for alterntives in all directions around us (we live on the central coast).
Thanks.

Jason,
We go to
Wee Jasper regularly and it is a great spot. Billly Grace is probably the main
campsite as covered above. There is also Swinging
Bridge (small area) and Mickalong Creek (our favourite). Unfortunately it does get very crowded in the peak times of the year such as school holidays,
easter etc.
I would avoid it in the school holidays but in saying that you there is good overflow at Billy Grace
Campground and you will get a spot.
It is no longer a
well kept secret and since listed in the Camps 6 book with the dreaded tick it is a popular spot. Off peaks and winter it is good to go.
Regards Will
