Anyone game for a Simpson Desert adventure?

There are 3 of us, but we all in one car unfortunatley; need another vehicle to accompany.

2 very experienced desert travellers.1 of us works for Central Land Council, job involves organising desert trips- permits sorted. 1 of us used to work for a ranger group in the Great Sandy Desert, job was to run desert trips. The other is just cool. Colin, Percy and Francois, and Nyullya, my dog.
My car is well sorted for desert travel.

28th of September. Travel from Alice Springs, down the Andado Track, to the old station. Plan is is to have a drum of fuel already dropped off to fill up from here; pending caretaker approval. Then cross over to the Colson Track and follow Madigan's Route across. From Camp 15 a quick run back to Alice up the Hay River Rd and Plenty Hwy- 9 days sat-sun. Still firming up those travel times, but preliminary calculations suggest that would be a comfortable ride.

Mate.... Would love to be able to tag along as the Madigan is one Desert trip on my bucket list, but time and distance doesn't suit this year.....

Northern Territory school holidays. We've only a week, which is why the quick trip back up the Hay River Rd to Alice, allowing us more a more leisurely drive across the desert.

As I said, we are still firming the time from camp 1 to camp 15, but at this stage:
Day 1 sat: to Old Andado station- A long 1st day drive- 330km, 5-6 hrs; but gets us deep into the desert, for our jump off onto the Madigan Line.

6days, sun to fri days to get from camp 1 to 15. at this stage seems reasonable, but need to firm this up.

2 days, camp 15 to alice- a quick drive, but not arduous.

Hi Percy
6 days camp 1 to 15 should be fine. You will have tracks to follow at that time of year, we were 1st group over last year with no tracks to follow and we did that section comfortably within that time frame.

Spinifex may be a drama for you at that time so be prepared for that.
