Hi guys,
we are heading down to Huskisson over the long weekend and wondering if there is any good spots to do a bit of 4WDing while there. Only there for 2 nights and have already booked into a caravan park with friends, so just some day trip tracks.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know!

There's plenty get a state
Forrest map of nowra it will show most but monkey gum is the main 4wd track for those who like a challenge
Leave huskisson head out on terrpentine rd then on to deans gap rd then turn to wombat flat then monkey trail to
braidwood rd then cassia fire trail then slab
hill rd then back on wandean rd to hwy

It's a big day from huskisson to the duea (bendethra) via mourya & out via snowball & back via
braidwood I have done it many times but it's not recommended

Duck you are right in that the route you suggest is too long , but coming from the eastern side takes about 1.5hrs from moyura to bendethra
camping area on an easy graded road.
The mericumbime road from araluen rd to bendethra may take around 6 to 7 hrs

I did NOT say to go out on the Meric fire trial to Araluen Rd that does take some time & if it rained the northern end would be interesting & not the river
There are 3 main ways a 4wd can go in & out of Bendethra
I did the Bendethra trip nearly every 2nd week for 2 years, a friend's daughter was doing a field study on the river & a few of us took it in turns even went down & back after work several times & it may be quicker from Moruya to Bendethra & return to Moruya but it was from Huskisson & return to Huskisson
But from Huskisson to Huskisson there's not much difference in time on the 2 most used ways E to W, W to E, E To E, W to W But North will take hrs more
I've been lucky enough to been going in & out since the sixty's & have also been down the duea river from above Bendethra all the way to the ocean. A good friends mother, Old Mrs lavis lives in Nowra & she was the last midwife to go out & live with the family & she delivered the last baby born there, her family had been country midwife's for Generations

Yes it's a good idea to get the Nowra Foresty Map. You can also do the '12 Mile Rd' trip starting at the Princes Hwy just south of the Sussex Inlet turnoff and finishing back on the
Braidwood Rd, it's just a few hours, you can also visit
Granite Fall and the Boyd Loookout

Duck, we have a 96 Prado, fully set up and we are experienced 4wders, just unfortunately don't spend enough time exploring around
Sydney & surrounds so hence the questions this time! Only 2 days away this trip, but if there is plenty to do down that way we may schedule another trip
