Apologies if this has already been addressed but I am looking for advice on ascertaining a basic understanding of the mechanics of a 4wd - you read lots of advice around CV joints, Bearings, Drive Shafts, Differentials etc but coming from a non mechanical background, converting the terms into reality is a challenge. So if anybody knows of a course, what ever the duration, here in Sydney, I would be really pleased to hear about it.

Check out the larger Four Wheel Drive Clubs, or Off Road Driver Training organisations, as an understanding of how the major components of the vehicle operate, and an introduction as to their maintenance, is normally a part of their training courses.
