Bega Boy
greetings all , tried to reply to original post , but was rejected both times . Diagnosis was as follows , at idol fuel pressure was 15000 psi should be 30000. Under load up too 100000 is expected , dropped to almost 0 ... Suggesting fuel blockage/ starvation
Now I was planning on sending to berima to have it fixed at the diesel mechanic experts up there , as many suggested they would be the best option .... After a phone call they say they are flat stick for at least a few weeks even months ?? So might contact insurance company and see if they will cover transport to
sydney .... If they do , who is the best option to send to
.?

Hi, When you had it checked, did you change the filter and crack the drain plug in the bottom of the tank to see if it is full of crud and also blow the lines back to the tank to see if it made a difference before you go the more expensive route of towing and pump repairs?

Because the normal servicing by a Toyota dealer "doesn not" include periodic filter changing, ie, "to prevent the occurrence", and only if a prob;em develops do they drain the filter housing of water/crud, the above advice is very sound.
Replace the filter FIRST and then see if you still have a problem.
If you know pump/rail pressures, then did the mechanic also
check the filters too? He/she should have. The pump cannot pump full amounts if it is being strangled.

You could try Gemini Diesel in Carlton or you could try Baileys at
Wollongong

If you are in
Goulburn why not to Canberra/Queanbeyan to
Cooma Diesel service or the diesel service at Queanbeyan.

Bega Boy as you have a Toyota dealer in
Goulburn why would your
breakdown service provider take you to another location. Certainly the NRMA with Premium Cover will only do it if the the vehicle cannot be repaired in the initial location the vehicle has been taken too.

Bega Boy, second all above re changing the fuel filter.
You should note that despite regular service, the Toyota service crew "check" and tick fuel filter on their sheets without checking the filter. Unless the fuel filter light has come on, they will leave it till the 100K service (or longer in some cases). You may be surprised to find just how clogged the things can be after a couple of years of use without being changed. Reduced fuel flow through them will not trigger the engine warning light but air or water into them will.
If you haven't already,
check or replace the filter.
Cheers
Mick

On the 200 series, reduced flow WILL trigger a warning light, same as water in the bowl will.
Mine ( and many others ) has triggered a warning light when the filter has been clogged with heaps of crap, but the engine still performs as normal..
But if it hasn't been done, then yes, the filter should be the 1st place to look, but by the sound of it, a more serious blockage or fault seems to exist ??

Probably still worth sending to a toyota dealership if
Cooma Diesel are busy also! They should be able to fix quickly! Michael

with no alarms going off, you may have a pump problem, be it the inlet valve control system or other,
cooma diesel are very good, as are all the others mentioned.
