Intending to be in
flinders ranges / arkaroola area from about 14 th june for a week or so. Have stayed at arkaroola before and liked it but i wonder if any travellers could suggest a private station or similar that caters for an off road camper and would be a good base..
Thankyou for sharing your advice.

Tim,
There is
Willow Springs Station just north of Wilpena that has the famous Skytrek 4WD circuit and
Rawnsley Park Station just south of Wilpena has an associated station with 4WD tracks. To the west, beside the highway from
Hawker to
Marree is
Merna Mora Station that gives access to
Lake Torrens. Just inland from
Beltana which is a bit further to the north, an historic site itself, is
Warraweena Station that is now a
nature reserve that also has 4WD tracks.
That's a start. Others may have more.
Cheers, Kevin

Kevin mentioned Waraweena, which in my experience is excellent. But I wouldn't be overlooking the
Beltana Station possibilities.

Can vouch for Waraweena as
well.
Great camp spots next to the huge dry creek with huge gums. We found the Prospectors site the nicest and away from others.
Hot showers are also available up at the
homestead.

X 2 for Skytrek Willow Springs.Stayed there
Easter 2016. Carmel, Brendan and Michelle are very friendly and helpful. There is
bush camping or accommodation in various buildings.

I can recommend Bendelby Ranges as
well. Each
camp spot is hundreds of metres away from each other and you feel that you have the place to yourself. Good 4wd tracks that will get the heart pumping.

We've stayed at
Rawnsley Park on occasions and found it good.
