Hi all
Just reading the latest thread on
toilet chemicals and got me thinking. Our loo in the camper is only used for No. 1s. So what should I use? The flush is connected to the main tank. Has anyone used Green2go Just Wee? Are there alternatives?
Interested in any thoughts. Must be as enviro-friendly as possible.
cheers
Kevin

Just wee is a problem. Conventional additives are basically useless.
Use the
toilet as a
toilet and you will have less problems.
Maybe just use an SOG fan system?
Cheers,
Peter

Kevin
We have been travelling full time here in NZ for just on 2 years and our Thetford C400 cassette based
toilet is used only for #1s except for the very rare perhaps once every 2 months emergency situation.
Reguardless of the implications on others forums that the generic eqivalents of Napisan may not/won't be of much benefit I can report that it performs perfectly for us.
No smells even after a week of hot weather (for NZ) there are no odours.
What else do we need? Nothing.

Why did the rhyming slang use #1's?
I always thought that #2's and #3's would have been more obvious.
I have just started using a van
toilet for the last 3 months purely for #3's. I use the generic Napisan; 2 caps in 1.5 litres of water; and we have had no odour problems at all. Even emptying it has not been hard on the nasal passages!

Always amuses me as to why people think that they need to mix it before adding to the tank. All I do is sprinkle it into the empty tank and the first time you have a widdle, it will dissolve the granules.
You will find you get much less smell using it for what it is designed for rather than just for one purpose.
You just need to get over the brain fart of dumping your poo.

Just empty it every day or two - no additives needed. Easy to dispose of in a
public toilet (but discreetly in case an audience thinks badly of you) and is not different to just using the
public toilet. Easy to dispose of out in the bush or desert too.

Gooday,
Another vote for SOG, have had ours for many years best investment we have made.
Thought by now those jobs would have been dragged into the Technology terminology of so called, No1 being Streaming and No 2 being Download.

The best thing I have installed in the van is an SOG unit on the
toilet, no odour in van.

It beggars belief to me why someone would have an expensive on board
toilet facility for convenience, but then only use it for "No 1's".
Anyway, I have found laundry soaker is as good as anything.
I use Coles brand Ultra Booser Laudry Soaker as it has a higher concentration of Sodium percarbonate than what "Napisan" once had.
Any of them will do though and work best if used for "No 2's" as
well as "No 1's.
If all one is doing is wee wee's, there's nothing cheaper than a plastic bucket emptied each morning.

Surely you are taking the piss?

The only time this system has let me down was when I forgot to empty it before putting the van away for summer. Five month old urine is not pleasant.
