Hi there,
Here's the final video from my CSR trip last year.
This one is from Mujingerra Cave, which I should say is a bit of a safety hazard.
Through to Well 24.

It's less than 5 minutes long so not to painful :-)

cheers
Alan

Al, a few more vehicles in the convoy than you usually travel in. See the big fella was with you again. You'd think by now he'd be a bit tired of those corrugations. Liked the faster pace of this one as well.

Cheers

Hi Dunc, Hope all is well with you.

It was a great trip, Alan's drone brought a whole new dimension to the trip; showing a wide expense of the desert puts wells and other features into perspective.

Re the $#&@ corros - aren't they a necessary evil if we want to get out there.

Hopefully with no desert travel in 2020 they will flatten out a bit.

Hi Phil and the same to you. Yes the travel restrictions have well and truly put the Khyber on my travel plans. But I put it this way the environment will as you say hopefully flatten those %$&^$#ing horror-gations, the vegetation where burnt last year will of bounced back and is thriving again, and our waterways will be clean and clear.

And it costs nothing to plan and dream of when the roads and tracks are open again.

Thanks Alan for another great video, those drone shots show the country in a totally different perspective.

equinox what year did you do this trip ? We did it in May 2011 & well 26 was nothing like you showed there. In the clip at 2.55 (I think) you said it was completely refurbished in 1983 . Also can you advise if Pierre Springs (well 6) is rebuilt to original specifications ? Great trip. I'm sure you enjoyed it.

Hi Batsy,

We did the trip last year.
In what way was Well 26 different?

The information on the original spec etc, came from "Work Completed", Bianchi 2013.Well 6 was refurbished firstly in 1991 by the Geraldton 4WD club.

Cheers
Alan

Thanks for the reply Alan, the "Work Completed" , Bianchi 2013 explains it I believe as the well in 2011 was no where near as restored as in your video so must have been done between 2011 & 2013. Thanks for the information on well 6.
Cheers

Was it not rebuilt more recently after being destroyed in a fire? I have a vague memory but can’t find a reference.

I was there in 2008 and there was no gate then.

Hi Rocco,
Yes, it was rebuilt by Trackcare after most of it was burnt down in October 2009.

Thanks Equinox

I was with some people from CALM, or DEC or whatever they were called in 2008. There was a lot of buffel grass around the troughs which we dug out and burnt. I guess it grew back. Another introduction we could maybe have done without.

I was in the crew for the toilet build at Well 46 last year and we cleared all the grass for 20m or more around the well and troughs as a fire precaution.

Good to see all that water in 24. It was only just a muddy hole in 2008.

Cheers
