Totally agree Peter. Social Media is great for spreading misleading or misinformation by albeit well meaning, but ill informed people.

I really do not understand why more people don’t “go to the source” like the various state and territory government departments. Each state and territory has its own “road closure” website, which is updated more regularly than social media.

And yet we have a goat track in North Queensland called the Bruce Highway...absolute joke.

Maaaaate ....... we have a truckload of important politicians to be looked after, before we think about things like roads. Just get your priorities right !!

I remember sometime back we were at Innamincka and asked at the pub and servo what the road to Cordillo Downs was like both said it was extremely rough and would be better of going up the Arrabury road, A couple of guys working on the gas wells pulled us aside and said no problems with the Cordillo Downs road they were right. The problem with the pub and servo, they hear from people who have never drive on a gravel road until they decide on their outback adventure.
