Thanks Peter. Camped up the top a few years ago. Stunning locations.

Officially that is indeed the Broome Shire Council ruling (No free camping in Broome Shire) and all the camp spots up the Manari Rd are considered to be within Broome Shire.

The reality however is that people, locals & travellers still regularly camp up there. James Price Point, Barred Creek, Quandong beach & Willie Creek.

There was also a free camp near the turn off to the Dampier Peninsula. Very popular with the backpacker population in Broome, many who work in town for wages that are not enough to afford accomodation in town during tourist season. The council made that camp inaccessible with bulldozers & now complain about 'illegal campers' at Town Beach. Crazy when it is backpackers who keep many of the tourist bsinesses running!

I never received that response, not in my Inbox or Junk mail folder.

I had been expecting a response so that I could explain what happened. That ticket with only the title was what I meant about my posting in this Forum as to a "Reporting Places failure". The information as to changes in camping in the Kennedy Ranges NP was what I was trying to write about in the ticket that was accidentally sent to Admin before I had finished it.

In the screen that is used to report a Places issue, I was typing in the "Summary" field and as the box was just a single line I wrongly assumed that hitting enter would step down to start another line, but instead it sent the message. I tried again, but this time I just kept typing my full message as a single line but then stopped as there was a cryptic message below "Please provide a valid value for field 'Summary' ". Having no idea as to what was wanted I deleted that attempt after I took a screenshot of it.

I have been wondering if what happened might be because I use Microsoft Edge but just haven't had the time to experiment with an alternate browser.

As to editing Places myself, yes I do mostly know what to do as I have many related to either personal ones or possible future trips. I was unhappy about editing the ones in that NP as per the info in the link I provided as I wasn't sure as to the validity of the source as there seems to be 2 bodies that have interests for that NP, Parks WA and the Upper Gascoyne Shire.
