It's not the easterners or the westerners Eric, it's us southerners that make all the difference.

Go Croweaters.

Now I do belive the Robe trip was set up and organised by someone from civilisation (Eric from the civilised state) LOL.

You poor sods have to drink water that we wouldn't wash our cars with for fear of getting them dirtier.

Adelaide, one of only two ports in the WORLD where ships won't take on water.

If you ask nicely we may give you back the Grand Prix when we're bored with it. Might even let you have a horse in the Melbourne Cup. Ask you to produce a tennis player with manners. etc etc etc ROFLMAO.

We even tolerate bleep weather to be here because everything else is here.

Melbourne, officially the world's most liveable city.

Sorry to sound superior, but we are LOL.

There are only two kinds of people in this world; 1. those who live in Melbourne and 2. those who wished they lived in Melbourne.

I can't go on, I'm breaking myself up, still ROFLMAO.

Don't take it too hard.

Cheers,

Jim.

Noticed the Sandgropers are a bit timid on sleepovers too.
Had one or two daytime get togethers but no overnight camping.

Come on Guys & Gals. Best way to get to know other forumites is over a bottle or two. (or three, or four)

OK, from Western Australia, here is one man's response.
1) Per Head of population, I think we still leave you for dead
2) West Australians are friendly & don't always need to ask for people to be their friends & go on holiday with them
3) and finally on a more selfish basis, you guys wouldn't like it over here. I mean sure most of our roads are bush tracks & the beaches are so white you need to wear sunglasses all the time but we don't have any toll roads, the biggest road we have is only 3 or 4 lanes wide & apparently we are all lousy drivers. So you guys just keep patting yourselves on the back & stay on the east, we'd hate to set the earth off its gravitational orbit by overweighting the west

Hey wait up a minute....

I would have loved to go to the gatherings in Perth, BUT at 1600 kilometres each way... well you can see the problem.

Anyone in the little states that wants to drive that far will probably have to do two laps!!

Western Australia - All calls to God are cheaper than from the East. After all, its a local call.

Glorious day to be in Melbourne last day in September 92 and 94. The only thing better than getting a premiership cup is getting 2. Brisbane, Eagles, Crows have won more between them than any other team in the AFL [VFL don't count, they brought our best players and wouldn't let better teams in]

Two good things in Melbourne [and Sydney], Airport and National Hwy One coz they both get you out of the place. CSR and Gibb River Rd both ours and both legendary in the world of 4WD. [and there are so many better ones that we don't tell the Mexicans about]

We stay 2 or 3 hours behind to ensure that someone fixes up the mistakes already made by all the foreigners.

8 million people in NSW and VIC [est] and 1 million here. 10 people at one of our gatherings equal to 80 at yours.

If I wasn't 1600kms away from Perth I'd have been to most, if not all of ours.

Recently drove down the Hume Highway from Sydney to Melbourne [rained all the way surprisingly but at least I got to find out after 12 months that the wipers on the Nissan worked].

Its obvious why you blokes all have overnighters. Too scared to drive home at night. Signs all down that road that order drivers travelling at 110 to 'Powernap now'. Who'd drive on the road when the bloke coming the other way might not have realised it was only a poorly worded suggestion and did what he was told.

Now, breathing deeply. Smiling. Happy

Go the mighty Eagles!!

Dave

You're all full of crap!

I'm a free spirit and as such political boundaries mean stuff all to me just as it means stuff all to nature.

I love every state, drunk or sober.

Good night Australia. God bless you.

I came from the dream-time, from the dusty red soil plains,
I am the ancient heart the keeper of the flame,
I stood upon the rocky shore I watched the tall ships come,
For forty thousand years I'd been the first Australian.

I came upon the prison ship bound down by iron chains
I cleared the land, endured the lash and waited for the rains.
I'm a settler, I'm a farmer's wife on a dry and barren run
A convict then a free man, I became Australian.

I'm the daughter of a digger who sought the mother lode
The girl became a woman on the long and dusty road
I'm a child of the depression, I saw the good times come
I'm a bushy, I'm a battler, I am Australian.

We are one but we are many,
and from all the lands on earth we come,
We share a dream, and sing with one voice,
I am, you are, we are Australian.

I'm a teller of stories, I'm a singer of songs
I am Albert Namatjira, and I paint the ghostly gums
I am Clancy on his horse, I'm Ned Kelly on the run
I'm the one who waltzed Matilda, I am Australian.

I'm the hot wind from the desert, I'm the black soil of the plains
I'm the mountains and the valleys, I'm the drought and flooding rains
I am the rock, I am the sky, the rivers when they run
The spirit of this great land, I am Australian.

Baz.

ahh.........so the dedate as to the greatest state has finnaly arisen is here,,,eh?????
we who reside in the land of the Great Sticker God have no fear of the words that eninate from the Eastern Middle, or the Eastern Dark

if it were not for the ideas of the Great Sticker God, and his Faithfull followers, here, in the Greatest State, that those from the Eastern Middle and Eastern Dark- would not have this place to gather, and share their lives...or organise their gatherings. ( which i believe are mearily meetings to thank the Great Sticker God, and to offer him their blessings.).....:):)

Not sure if you've noticed, but research in plate tectonics has shown that since we've been mining all that iron ore from the Pilbara, the continent has been gradually getting lighter in the northwest, causing it to pivot on Ayer's Rock, with the SE slowly sinking into the ocean. Sorry, but you'll eventually have no option but to pack up and move from the SE regions!

Maybe but it's subjective isn't it. A good creative mind generates a lot of crap, mostly we discard it but sometimes one is complled to put pen to paper. May there always be crap generators because these people also generate the good ideas.
