Hey there Folks!
I'm gonna be the envy of all............. gonna be walkin' the talk of the Forum. Tomorrow night I get to pack the Patrol... and the Camper... and the Tinnie... in preparation for an early Sat'dy departure across Australia.

Sydney > White Cliffs > Coober Pedy > Oddnadatta > Dalhousie > Birdsville > Maree > William Creek > Coober Pedy > Ayres Rock > The Olgas > Alice Springs > Rabbit Flat > Wolfe Creek > Halls Creek > Palm Springs > Kununurra > Lake Argyle > Wyndham > Dryside Crossing > Crystal Head > Fitzroy Crossing > Derby > Broome > Port Headland > Marble Bar > Newman > Monkey Mia > Perth > Kalgoorlie > Streaky Bay > Mildura > back to Sydney

'Bout a week doin' the Simpson/Lake Arye loop, few days round the Alice, two weeks in the Kimberleys, four or five days in the Pilbera, a day or two at Monkey Mia, couple o' days in Perth and the rest of the time just gettin' round, havin' a good time. Six weeks in all!

Haven't worked out yet where to leave the Camper while doin the Simpson loop.

Not leavin' the boat, so don't laugh too loud when you see us in the Simpson with a boat on the roof rack. The Missus is convinced there will be some place to use the boat. Me - I think the only place we may get to use it is on the Dunes. Are there any guidelines regarding boats and Dunes? You think a flag pole has to be attached to the boat while in use? (Hehe)

Trouble with this trip right now (appart from the Missus takin' half our belongings with us) is all the road closures in the Kimberley's! Bugger! What's goin' on over there? Is it unseasonal rain or are they generally closed around this time? I thought that April/May was the perfect time for the Kimberleys.

Hopefully most will be open again by the time we get there around the 1st May.

Anyway, just to rub it in... Na, na, nana, na...

Scrubba

Sounds like a detour to the Cooper is in order.
Oh, and please drive carefully over the dunes with all that weight on the roof.

Take it all in and enjoy.

Hey Scrubba, post a photo of the descent of the steep face of Big Red with all of you in the tinny. That would have to be a first & worth $$$ for front cover of 4x4 whatever!
Time schedaue is a bit tight to get much rest or time in the tinny methinks.

You can "Walk the Walk" and "Talk the Talk" but I'm buggered if I know if it is possible to WALK the TALK!!!!

Have a good trip anyway.

I see we've all had a bit of fun with this.

As a footnote, if it wasn't for the information made freely available on this Site (Trek Notes, Road Conditions, What to Take, etc) and for the willingness for people to share their knowledge and experiences via the Forum, I, for one, wouldn't feel confident about doing trips like this on my own.
I don't post much, but I read... a lot...

Thanks to the Team of ExplorOz!

I've said it before - I'll say it again:

Juliana, Kerry and Malcolm as well"
