Hi ALL, Can Anyone offer any information as to what this caravan park is like. We were planning to stop there for a couple of days on our trip to Darwin next July ( only due to other parks being fully booked already or you cant stay less than a week).
My parents have recently returned from Broome ( roebuck CP) and heard from a seasoned broome visitor that Broome Caravan Park was not very nice and they had a lot of rowdy, on something, type people always staying there. As we are taking 2 small children and looking for a nice relaxing holiday we are a little concerned about this park due to what we have heard....but it is only one opinion and we would really appreciate a few more as this is probably the only place we could stay in broome. Many Thanks Tony and Dawn

Hi Tony,
We stayed there for 5days 2yrs ago and found it to be fine for noise and the permanent residents where quieter than the caravaners. It is 2-3 km from the center of town there is plenty of grass and the toilets and showers where always clean there is a small play ground for the kids. July is the buisiest time so most parks will have people coming and going all the time . We would not hesitate to go back for a couple of days if it was for a week or more we would stay closer to cable beach .
Hope that helps
Col

never been there mate but bear in mind that although some places do seem to attract a rabble, often it's just a case of a rowdy lot visiting at a particular time and that it's usually ok.

My only gripe with them was we couldn't book ahead and had to queue for a spot. I was about number 20 in the queue by 7am but by 9am enough people had left that we got in. Tip if you go peak time is to queue very early. If its full the local shire open extra grounds but often theres overflow to Derby which is 2 hours further north. The park itself is very big but clean

Hi Tony,

Broome Caravan Park looked after us after I had some (nasty) issues with my Bravo DC last year. It's a large park, as others have noted and if they HAVE to move you, you can end up down the far East end which isn't as bad as we thought.

I'd recommend that park to anyone!!

I would also recommend ringing Roebuck Bay caravan park as often as you can to check for cancellations. That's a top caravan park.

Was in this part of the woods in July...having travelled from down south and was seriously disappointed in Broome...lack of facilities, crowded..no vacancy signs everywhere...and a general atitude that took everyone as being a cash cow...would never go back again ...we camped ...had no choice .. about 60kms from town and were invaded by a bunch of local hoons at around midnight who scarred all hell out of the missus ..so we left there the next day and returned home...3 months early...and are confident that we will never go back to BROOME...EVER

We were in Broome July this year & had been told along the road to call into the Visitor centre on arriving & they would find any vacancy's around the town. This we did & were able to get straight into a caravan park. My opinion of Broome, Overrated, overpriced & overcrowded.

Hi Tony,

Got back from there a couple of weeks ago and have no problem recommending the park or Broome. Just 2 things the people at the park have a take it or leave it attitude that can be off puting but once you in it is a nice place. Secondly June and July is the busiest period up there and if you can't book ahead it could be frustrating. We were there in September and had no such troubles.

Kind regards

If the above comments have scared you off Broome, you could stay at Barn Hill Station which is about an hours drive South of Broome. It is only a camping ground (with shower and toilet facilities), but it is right next to a beautiful beach, has a single lane bolwing green, and is a great place to stay for as long as you want. The best thing about it is that there arent hundreds of shops within 2 minutes of where you are staying.
