Hi there,
After some opinions on best caravan
park to stay in in
Adelaide. We will be there early December. Planning to see city sights, Mt Lofty & maybe day trip to Victor Harbour. Also plan to do tram ride to
Glenelg. Wondered if the beachside
places nicest, but some look close to airport.
Any advice gratefully accepted!

The
Adelaide Caravan
Park in Portrush Rd IS very good, Small, so book ahead, handy to the City, we walked in many times, easy to find, and clean amenities.
Levi
Park is OK also, but a bit harder to find, it is on the bus route, so you dont have to take your car if you dont want to. Both are handy if you are coming/ going toMelboune,
Perth, or on the way North
cheers Ringa

West Beach caravan park is used for a
camping show at some stage of the year - have not stayed there but when at the show the place seemed pristine - a very high level of provision and maintenance in all respects. There may be a bit of airport noise at times though. One issue is the proximity of
the beach for walks - about 100m !

Adelaide airport has a curfew - no planes I think it's between 11 pm and 6am.

I was in
Adelaide Oct 2004 and stayed at Brownhill
Creek Caravan
Park when we travelled over from the west. Found the
park to be nice & clean and the owners very helpful (had problems with the Jack on the Nullabor). I highly recomend this caravan
park.
Happy Travelling

The
Adelaide Caravan
Park is at Hackney, just across the road from the parklands and is the one nearest the city and also highly recommended. otherwise
West Beach is good but planes go over all day long, yes, it is near the airport. I would personally recommend the
Berri caravan
Park cause it 235 kms east of
Adelaide, about as close as I like to be. Also a great
park. Ask Des Lexic.

West Beach is now called
Adelaide Shores. It is the
park of choice for
Broken Hill locals visiting
Adelaide.
The smell of the ocean is enough to get me there. You do hear the airport but it is not intrusive and certainly has never stopped me sleeping.
The
park is spacious, green and very
well appointed and maintained. It is close to
Glenelg, a mate of
mine from the
Hill walks along
the beach to
Glenelg regularly. You could take your tram ride into the city rather than the other way.
The locals will hate me saying this but
Adelaide is not that big, I grew up in
Sydney, so getting around is not a major issue. Haven't stayed at any of the other parks since about 1984 so my knowledge of them is a bit dated.

Moana CP is on the beachfront and about a third of the way to Victor Harbour. Approx. 35kms from city centre.
Beautiful beaches down south too.

I reckon the
kingston pk cp is the go. Absolute beachfront, in a decent part of the city, about 10mins from the bay tram. Esaily the best beach on the metro coast.
