Does any body know of a club that is set up for the compact 4wd's in Sydney? I have been looking around and the amount of prejudice (perceived) by established 4wd clubs is astounding.
I am interested in possibly forming a group / club.
I have a Mazda Tribute, so anyone that might have a Honda CRV, XTrail, Ford Escape etc, I would appreciate a reply.

There is a club in Melbourne that is doing well. See the Vicroia 4wd association web site for details. They may be able to help you set one up. I may be interested in helping form such a club next year in Brisbane after my next trip away - back end of March.

If you do setup a club, maybe the NSW 4wd association can help and it pays to be afflliated to them anyway for all sorts of reasons.

Stevesub

having had a look at the NSW 4WD & ACT site, for the first off couple of times, I think it best to keep it informal first.

I have been trying to get freinds with 4WD's and Compacts to go on a trip, and been unsuccesful.

I think I would rather get an informal group to go on a couple of day trips first.

Any one want to suggest some places etc?

The WA Four Wheel Drive Association has just set up a club for compact 4WD's.

You could contact them for help if you are interested in setting up a club

Remember, it is better to have travelled and got lost than to not have travelled at all.

Most 4WD associations are looking at the AWD group with views to setting up clubs in their respective states. Vic has already done it and SA is working on it so the others are probably looking at it too.

Ross P,

Thank you for that info. I have rang these people a year or so ago & the fellow I spoke with was quite nice and happy to help.
I know it would be great to do it, but wow the prices for all driver training is a little out of my reach in the short term.

Thanks anyway.

I too own a Mazda Tribute. I'm not too sure I have the time to participate in an organised club but I support your endeavours in establishing one. Have you done much in the way of offroading? I've been up to Yengo NP a few times and Zig Zag. Looking at getting up to the Watagans in early January. I'm also booked on a driving training course this Sunday with Great Divide Tours. We're doing Stockton Beach - can't wait!

Let me know how things go and good luck with everything..
