Hi all
Done a search and back in 2004 the access through Frome Station was apparently closed off but new maps still show it. Does anyone know the current status??

Access to what?
If ya trying to go to Arkaroola, or the central
Flinders Ranges from
Yunta, no probs.
It is my understanding that the station itself is out of bounds.
Cheers

Thanks Ric
"Please explain"
Yes I am heading to
Balcanoona but understood this entailed driving through the station (and this is what the maps show) and that this was not possible some years ago.
I have worked out I can go around the staion but have done that before so looking for a different route.

Its a great wide public road from
Yunta which goes within cooee of the Frome Downs Station
homestead.
Not sure where you are getting your info from. This road has been open since the early 1900's

Your post is confusing
Lake Frome is accessible from
Yunta via
Balcanoona NP HQ.
Frome Downs Station yrack from the station to NSW is closed to the public as it is only a station track and there is no access to NSW.

Thanks guys
You (or I anyway) learn something every day. My info was that the route from
Yunta went through the station but obviously incorrect.
So I can go back to planning the trip.
