Some thing like that, dreaming and planning next 4x4 trip up the middle of WA then to the coast and pop in and see some friends in port headland, on the way back to perth stop at the odd fishing spot, exmouth, steep point among a few

I would like to try the fishing at Steep Point as I used to do a lot of live baiting for tuna off Jervis Bay in NSW and I like that sort of thing .

I have the time cos I am retired , but I don't seem to have anyone to do things with . It's OK in the winter when I go of up into the deserts in WA because I meet people I know over there , but here in Sydney in the summer , all my friends are still working and I have nobody to go away with . So I sit around here like a stale bottle of p1ss .
My wife works , so she can't go away with me either . Can't even take the dog for company anymore .

Hi TPM ,
John probably will not read your post because this was all said last night . Are you drilling or maitaining an already developed field ? Are you working for an Australian company ?
The pay must be good to get you to go to Angola !
Cheers ,

I work for Halliburton Australia its a global/ American company but I get paid out of Australia. Yeah the pay has to be good to work here. Its like living in a garbage dump, they just throw the trash out onto the street.
Luanda used to be a beautiful city before the war, the Portugese left and it all went to the pits. The Government here doesnt care much about the people, they make about 1.2 million barrels of oil a day here. not money much filters down.
Mostly I am in Luanda and fly to the rig by chopper when needed, there are old fields here but Halliburton assemble all the tubing components that are run into the well for replacement or new developments.

Cheers TPM, counting the days.

Nah Bro. Like you, I can't sleep. Must have been that nap I had yesterday afternoon :)))))

Just reading the posts and making some inane comments as usual hahahaha

Looks like the proposed National Gathering in June has been knocked on the head unless a Member takes on the role of organiser. That's a shame, I was just starting to put together a cunning plan to escape SWMBO for a few days.

When do you leave on your trip? I thought it was around the end of the month.

Meeting Willem in Peterborough around 22 nd for a jaunt west of Alice , then up the Tanami to the Kimberley for a couple of weeks with some friends from Perth . Then the Boss is flying to Broom for a week with me . After that , I go south to join a Murchison tagalong into the Gibson Desert and up to the Calvert Ranges .Then back home across the Nullabor .

I have got heaps of photos from the trips I have done up there in 2004 and 2005 .
I am really interested in Aboriginal rock art , so I take heaps of photos of that .

I don't think anyone would be interested to see them in the sort of format we have to use on her though .

I should post them on my own website , but the task is daunting for a computer idiot like me .

You should post a couple and see the reaction. Even a redneck like me can appreciate indigenous rock art.

There's quite a few IT gurus on the Forum that might be able to help you out with a website etc.

LOL understood that mate, just thought it was getting more like a social gathering (apparently the original meaning of hootenanny) with some nightowls not showing a great deal of wisdom being up that late (excusing those who were 'working' hehehehe of course).

p.s. I think I've been reading too many of Lone Wolf's postings. It's bloody contagious.

Willie,

Click on the members Rig Pic or the 'View Members Rig & Profile' line in the post. That will display their details.

To the right of their Screen Name is a button 'Send Member Message'. Click on that button and a screen similar to the Post/Follow-up screen will appear.

Just enter a Subject and Message in the relevant boxes and click on the 'Send This Member Msg' button below the Message box when you're finished.
