Just warning everyone we’re finally heading North! There’s two Prado’s and three 100 series heading out of the ACT at 5am on Saturday morning (1/7) looking for warmer weather for a month. We’re all doing our first trip to
Cape York.
If you see us please come over and say hello - you'll know us - four of the five have Rhino Racks so stick out like the preverbial - we'll be on Ch 26.
Thanks to all who have replied to our many and varied posts since we started planning this little jaunt last
Easter (05) - We’ll post a run down of how the trip went when we get back!
Tour Team (Exploroz Name):
Steve and Sandy (ACT)
Ivan (ACT)

Bring it on!!

Safe travels and enjoy. Not that you can do anything else but enjoy when you are heading to the cape.
Regards, Trevor

Ivan, I see you've got a LC V8, is it on gas, and how do you find it fuel wise (LPG or petrol?)
Cheers Fisho

Just had a friend visit from
Canberra.
I apologised for Brisy getting down to 6 deg and only 23 during the day where where we are. Bit cold for us.
He said no problems, -4 and 8 in
Canberra, first time for a while he hasn't had a beannie on.
So you will just have to survive in the warmer weather.
Told you have to watch those fingers as they defrost, they can tingle and hurt a bit :-)
Diesel was $1.32 when I filled up this morning at the local Matilda, petrol $1.20, so maybe make the Qld border a fill up point.
Enjoy the trip.

Ivan,
As discussed on the LCOOL list I'm heading off from
Sydney at 7/7.30am on Saturday 1st for the Cape as
well with a Pajero and meeting three other vehicles at
Daintree on the 12th so theres a good chance we'll cross paths. Got an ExplorOZ sticker on the back and running Ch16.
I'd also like to thank those that have posted info on the Cape and particularly the locals for keeping us informed on conditions.

The plan is to arrive in

I'll send my mobile number by member message, and if we can organise it, it woud be great to meet up!
